Quick & Easy Beef Stir Fry Recipe: Tender Beef and Veggies in a Flavorful Sauce

Here's a simple and delicious Beef Stir Fry recipe that you can whip up in no time:

Ingredients:
  • Beef:
    • 1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tbsp cornstarch
    • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for marinating)
  • Stir Fry Vegetables:
    • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    • 1 carrot, julienned or sliced into thin matchsticks
    • 1 cup broccoli florets
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • Sauce:
    • 3 tbsp soy sauce
    • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
    • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
    • 1 tbsp sesame oil
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
  • For Cooking:
    • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
    • Cooked rice (to serve)

Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Beef:
    • In a bowl, mix the thinly sliced beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Toss to coat evenly, and let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and chili flakes (if using). Set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
    • Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add the broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
  4. Cook the Beef:
    • In the same pan, add the marinated beef. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the beef is cooked through and browned.
  5. Combine and Serve:
    • Add the cooked vegetables back into the pan with the beef. Pour in the prepared sauce and toss everything together for an additional 2-3 minutes to coat the beef and vegetables evenly.
    • Serve the stir fry over a bed of rice.
