Authentic Chicken Karahi Recipe – A Flavorful Pakistani Delight

​Make authentic Pakistani Chicken Karahi at home! This rich, spicy, and aromatic dish is cooked with tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and a blend of traditional spices. Ready in under an hour! 🍗🔥 #ChickenKarahi #PakistaniFood
Chicken Karahi Recipe
​Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs chicken (bone-in, cut into small pieces)
  • 4 large tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup oil or ghee
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 2-3 green chilies (sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
  • Fresh cilantro (chopped, for garnish)
  • Fresh ginger (julienned, for garnish)

Instructions:
  1. Heat the oil in a wok (karahi) over medium-high heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  2. Add chicken and fry until it changes color and starts browning slightly.
  3. Stir in the tomatoes, cover the pan, and let them cook down until they become soft (about 10-15 minutes). Stir occasionally.
  4. Add spices – salt, red chili powder, turmeric, cumin, and coriander. Cook uncovered, stirring frequently, until the oil separates from the masala.
  5. Toss in green chilies and dried fenugreek leaves, stirring to mix the flavors.
  6. Finish with garam masala and black pepper. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and julienned ginger before serving.

Serve hot with naan or roti for an authentic Pakistani experience! 🍽️🔥
