What is Qurbani/Udhiya?
Qurbani (Udhiyah in Arabic) is the sacrifice of an animal to Allah SWT during Eid ul-Adha. It honors Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) devotion and allows Muslims to share blessings with those in need.

What is Dhul Hijjah?

📅 When is Qurbani performed?
On the 10th, 11th, and 12th of Dhul Hijjah.

🕌 Who should give Qurbani?
Any sane, adult Muslim who meets the Zakat threshold.

🔹 What are the conditions for a Qurbani animal?

• Must be healthy and free from defects
• Must meet minimum age requirements:
  • Sheep/Goats – 1 year+
  • Cows/Buffalo – 2 years+

How many animals per person?
1 sheep/goat per person, or 1 share in a cow/camel (shared by up to 7 people).

🔄 Can I perform Qurbani on behalf of someone else?
Yes! You may offer Qurbani for family members, deceased loved ones, or others, after fulfilling your own obligation.

💰 Can I donate money instead of performing Qurbani?
No, Qurbani must involve an actual sacrifice. However, you can donate to Halal-N-Tayyib’s Meat Share Donation Program, and we’ll perform it on your behalf.
