I’ve been searching for grass fed, grass finished halal meat for a while now. I had initially come across Halal-N-Tayyib’s website several months back but didn’t pull the trigger on a purchase. I think my initial hesitation was the distance to NYC. I visited the website a few times without committing.
Finally, my wife just had it with Costco, Trader Joe’s and the others. Time and time again she’d purchase meat from those stores and when she got home and opened the package the meat just smelled awful. I had become accustomed to supermarket meat having an odor. The only question was how pungent it would be. So I finally decided that we needed a better, cleaner, healthier and humane option.
Brother Rachid was super patient, answered all of my questions. That was it for me. I decided to purchase a whole cow and have it shipped to NY. I was able to provide them with a “cut list” of exactly how I wanted the cow butchered.
Alhamdulilah, my family has been enjoying this super high quality, nutrient dense, beef for weeks now. The meat is unlike ANY that I’ve gotten from a supermarket or butcher. The first package I opened up, I took a big whiff and nothing. None of that off putting odor that you get from supermarket meat that we’ve gotten so accustomed to. If anything it just smelled fresh and clean. The flavor is excellent. Visually, you can see the high quality of the meat. The fat on the meat has a slight yellow tone because of the higher levels of beta-carotene consistent with a 100% grass fed diet.
I wish I had made this purchase sooner. Don’t wait like I did. Just contact them and get an order going. You will be glad that you did. Just make sure you know how to properly cook 100% grass fed beef. Grass fed is leaner so it’s easier to overcook if you’re not careful. Just watch a YouTube video on it if you’ve never cooked it before.
I can’t ever go back to supermarket/butcher meat again. InshaAllah, I won’t have to.
