Slow-Cooked and Oven-Baked Halal Grass-Fed Beef Ribs are the perfect combination of tenderness and flavor. This recipe transforms beef ribs into a mouthwatering dish by slow-cooking them to perfection and then baking them with a deliciously caramelized BBQ glaze. The slow-cooking process allows the meat to become incredibly tender, while the final oven-baking step gives the ribs a beautiful, crispy finish.

Using Halal grass-fed beef ensures the meat is ethically sourced, free from hormones and antibiotics, and packed with a rich, natural flavor. The blend of aromatic spices and seasonings creates a robust, savory taste that pairs perfectly with your favorite BBQ sauce. Whether you're preparing this dish for a family gathering, a weekend cookout, or just a comforting meal, these beef ribs are sure to impress with their fall-off-the-bone tenderness and bold flavors. Enjoy them with classic sides like coleslaw, fries, or corn on the cob for a complete and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:
  • Halal Grass-Fed Beef Ribs: 2 racks (around 3-4 lbs)
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons (for coating)
  • Salt: 1-2 teaspoons (adjust to taste)
  • Black Pepper: 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic Powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Onion Powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika: 1 tablespoon
  • Brown Sugar: 2 tablespoons
  • Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin: 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (optional, for heat)
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: 2 tablespoons (for added tenderness)
  • BBQ Sauce: 1-2 cups (choose your favorite or homemade)

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat Oven & Prepare Ribs
  • Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) for slow cooking.
  • Remove the membrane (the thin layer of connective tissue) from the back of the beef ribs, using a paper towel to grip it and pull it off. This step ensures tenderness.
  • Pat the beef ribs dry with paper towels and coat them with olive oil.
Step 2: Season the Ribs
  • In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
  • Rub this seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the beef ribs, pressing it into the meat.
Step 3: Slow Cook the Ribs
  • Wrap the ribs tightly in foil, ensuring no air can escape. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet or in a roasting pan.
  • Put the ribs in the preheated oven and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours. The slow cooking will make the beef ribs tender and juicy.
Step 4: Prepare for Baking
  • After slow cooking, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the foil. The ribs should be tender and nearly falling off the bone.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for baking.
  • Brush the ribs with BBQ sauce on both sides, generously coating them.
Step 5: Bake the Ribs
  • Return the ribs to the oven and bake, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes or until the BBQ sauce has caramelized and the edges of the ribs become slightly crisp. For an extra char, you can broil them for the last 3-5 minutes, but watch carefully to avoid burning.
Step 6: Serve
  • Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting.
  • Slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce if desired.

Tips:
  • Marinate the beef ribs in the seasoning mix overnight for more flavor.
  • You can use your favorite store-bought BBQ sauce or make a homemade one for a personal touch.
  • Halal grass-fed beef ribs are a great option as they are free from hormones and antibiotics, offering a richer taste and healthier option.
  • If you prefer, substitute halal grass-fed beef ribs with beef short ribs, adjusting the cooking time as needed.

Serving Suggestions:
  • Serve your slow-cooked and baked beef ribs with sides like coleslaw, corn on the cob, baked beans, or fries for a satisfying meal.

Note:
For a healthier and more wholesome meal, you can use organic or non-GMO ingredients whenever possible. Choosing halal grass-fed beef ensures you are using ethically sourced, high-quality meat free from hormones and antibiotics.
